Dr. Larry Markson, personal empowerment, practice and business success and prosperity coach, has devoted his professional life to helping others transform their thoughts, actions, and feelings to experience the fulfillment of their life's goals. For nineteen years, Larry was a practicing doctor of chiropractic with an extremely successful facility in Flushing, New York. In 1980 he founded Markson Management Services, a strategy-based practice management and coaching firm for chiropractors. In 1997, he co-founded The Masters Circle with Drs. Dennis Perman and Bob Hoffman, an identity-based personal coaching and seminar company that taught chiropractors and their assistants how to expand their concepts and visions. In 2006, he founded his favorite venture, The Cabin Experience, a Breaking Free-Personal Freedom Retreat for twenty-five people at a time. I quit my "stinkin thinkin"

I must say that for a good part of my life I spoke negatively about myself and wondered why I had such a low self esteem. This book helped me realize that I had to change my thinking to improve my life. This book is a must for anyone who struggles with "stinkin thinkin" and wants true change in their life.

Dr.Markson does an outstanding job of building on the concept of taking control of your thoughts, and more importantly, taking control of your beliefs. He provides great insight and ideas into self talk for a better future.

I can't believe I paid for this

This book is a very long ad for the author's workshop.

It's full of silly, trite, power-of-positive-thinking flotsam. If you've ever read a self-help book before, nothing here will be new to you. It's entirely conceptual stuff, with very little guidance on how to actually put any of the ideas to use. If you want the same kind of content but with an actual program to apply the ideas, try Terry McBride's The Hell I Can't. He's also has a much more interesting story than Markson.

Beautiful story

This is a lovely family tale that just happens to concern a GLBT family.

This could have been any family, anywhere. The story revolves around a couple who have adopted two boys. The 1st boy was adopted when he was 6. Even though his parents provided access to counseling, due to his previous circumstances, Andy has serious abandonment issues.

Although they were not looking to adopt a 2nd child, Kyle's situation called to both parents and they adopted him as well.

Andy's abandonment issues come into play full force as he believes his parents will no longer be interested in him now that they have another, younger child in the home.

Kyle, realizing the problem, elects to remove himself from the situation and runs away. Andy is able to find Kyle and the ending chapter that brings them together is brilliantly done. I can easily see two young men having this discussion.

Realistic, beatiful, heartbreaking and full of hope

I would have bought this story anyway because all proceeds go to charity and for such good cause, but I really really enjoyed it too. Another reviewer said it all - this could have concerned any family, but just happened to be about LGBT family. My heart went out to both boys and what they went through and what their parents went through, just felt so believable, so very realistic. Personally I am just glad that people like their parents do exist in the real world.

I'd rate it higher, but I wish it was longer!

17 year old Andy lives with his two dads, is an average student, and has an average life. When Kyle comes onto the scene, Andy feels upset and abandoned - don't his parents love him enough to not replace him until he has moved out for college?

What I liked about this short story was that I caught the character dynamics really quickly, and was able to individualise each person in my mind really clearly. The characters were consistant, and the action was engaging enough that I didn't feel the pages passing by.

My complaint would be that it was too short! As a short story, it was great, but I felt that there could have been more! I wanted to know more about Andy's childhood (although what was mentioned of it was smoothly integrated), and more about how the family dynamics would change in the future.

This short story is a great one for also illuminating the plight of queer people in trying to adopt or foster children in need. Same sex parental units are no worse at parenting than 'traditional' couples, yet often they are ostracised and their children treated differently. I can imagine Andy's response and Kyle's bullying as being quite typical of what these people would experience.

I'm going to look out for other novels by this author in this genre, and perhaps branch out a bit too. I'd give it four stars, simply because although I loved it, I wanted more, more, more!

I received this novel from the author as part of a new Goodreads initiative by the group YA LGBT Books called 'Read-to-Review'. The requirement of this program is that you only ask for one novel at a time, and that reviews are posted within one month of receiving the copy. I was so excited to have something short and queer to read, I had to read it the same day!

A long awaited book for the great Tompall Glaser

I am fascinated by Tompall Glaser but could never find much information about him or his music... this book solved that! This book is written extremely well by Kevin Glaser and is not one sided in anyway. Letters from Tompalls army days made me feel quite sad and gave me a totally different view of Tompall. I have always believed he was the most underrated country singer we have known and could never understand why he never made it as big as Waylon and Willie. From reading this book it has opened my eyes more to what Tompall actually did for country music and helping others singers with their music, breaking down barriers and standing up for other musicians. Basically put others music before his own.
Stories from hillbilly central are very informative and amusing to read, you get to know what the Great Tompall was really like, good and bad. Towards the end of the book stories from his touring days in England are described in great detail giving a more private side to Tompall. I still find it hard to believe the County Music Hall of Fame has not yet recognised Tompall and using the address given in the back of the book I will be contacting them with my opinions.
If you love Tompalls music as I do this book is a total gem for your collection. If you have never heard of him track down some CDs or vinyl and enjoy his beautiful voice. I listen to Tompalls music everyday and am delighted I have this wonderful book in my Tompall collection.

TOMPALL WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN BY HIS MANY FANS

This book is a special addition to my book collection. Tompall was a multi-talented entertainer and was blessed with a magnificent voice and song writing skills. This book encompasses the life of Tompall and the pictures were a welcome part to his life story. When he sang, you could see a sparkle in his eyes and smile on his face that revealed how much he loved music and enjoyed singing. It was delightful when he performed solo numbers, and when he sang with his brothers, Chuck and Jim, country music was at its best because their harmony was pure magic! The book gives the reader many details of Tompall's life and career that were unknown in the past. It also brings forth the various singers, musicians, and songwriters that played a significent role in his lifetime. His life was colorful and successful, and his passing left a void in country music that can never be replaced or forgotten. This book is definite a "must read" for each of his countless fans, who will keep his music thriving. Jo Anne Behrens

It was a very interesting and informative book. Kevin did a great job. I enjoyed every minute
I spent reading it! It's the kind of book that will probably be read over and over. I loved Tompall's music, with his
brothers, and solo. He was one of the best singers I have ever listened to, and a very interesting person. I'm so glad I was able to see him in concert and visit with him on several occasions. Thank you Kevin for writing this, and to everyone who contributed to it. For everyone who enjoys Tompall's music, this should be required reading.

So, I get it, this book was probably written with the young family in mind. Umm, I'm NOT! I love saving and finding better ways to stretch my budget. Come one, who doesn't need a lift to their lifestyle? Jill addresses ways to be more organized and how to save, how to LIVE within our means and make it work, never feel like you're doing without. I've take a couple of great tips from this book and adapted them into my life. I was referred to this book by a friend and really need to remind them I appreciate that they pointed me in this direction :)
